We had three wonderful evenings in July at Margaret Pinkerton’s flower arranging demonstrations and workshop where we could attempt to arrange our own flowers with expert help and advice. On the first evening Margaret showed us how to set an arrangement so that we could get the shape we wanted, we were then helped to fill in the ‘shape’ with foliage and flowers. I am sure we were all delighted with our first efforts by the end of the evening. The second evening 11th July, we attempted to make a tall arrangement which can look stunning in a tall, willowy vase or holder. Margaret again did two arrangements showing us how to prepare our chosen holder or vase for a tall arrangement which was just fascinating to watch. Again I am sure we were delighted with our efforts and quite amazed at how different our individual arrangements turned out to be.

The final evening found ourselves preparing for Christmas by making arrangements using candles – Margaret demonstrated her skills by producing a super Christmas ring using an assortment of foliage which was just beautiful to watch unfold, and again, I am sure we were all delighted with our final efforts. Flower arranging is very relaxing and is worth every moment spent. Margaret Pinkerton is a delightful lady, very experienced who is always willing to help and gently advise. On behalf of all the people who attended the flower arranging demonstrations I am delighted to thank Margaret for all her help, support and expertise and for helping us all to appreciate floral art-work. Thank you Margaret.
